Lead Architect - Sustainable Building Design

Our client, an innovative architecture and design firm, is seeking a highly accomplished and forward-thinking Lead Architect specializing in sustainable building design to join their team in Provo, Utah, US . This role is critical in shaping the future of environmentally conscious construction and will involve leading the design process for projects with a strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and resource conservation. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing architectural designs that integrate cutting-edge green building technologies and principles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in sustainable design practices, a thorough understanding of green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM), and a passion for creating spaces that minimize environmental impact. Responsibilities include leading design teams, collaborating with engineers, consultants, and clients to define project goals and requirements, developing detailed architectural plans and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and sustainability standards. You will play a key role in selecting sustainable materials, optimizing building performance through passive design strategies, and integrating renewable energy systems. The ability to conduct life cycle assessments and energy modeling to inform design decisions is highly desirable. Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills are essential for guiding project teams and effectively communicating design visions to clients and stakeholders. Qualifications:
Licensed Architect (RA) with a Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent. 10+ years of architectural design experience, with a significant focus on sustainable and green building projects. Proven experience leading architectural design teams and managing projects from concept to completion. In-depth knowledge of sustainable design principles, materials, and technologies. Familiarity with green building rating systems (e.g., LEED AP certification preferred). Experience with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and potentially energy modeling software. Excellent conceptual design, problem-solving, and technical skills. Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices. Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills. Ability to mentor junior architects and foster a collaborative design environment.
