Lead Data Center Architect

We are seeking a Lead Data Center Architect to spearhead our most technologically advanced data center projects. You will excel in creating high-availability, power-dense environments for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients. Your role will anchor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the integration of complex cooling and power systems into seamless, sustainable designs. You'll manage the design lifecycle from schematic through construction and lead the adoption of advanced technologies in our projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead architectural design and technical documentation for large-scale data center projects, overseeing everything from site planning to complex white space configurations.Develop comprehensive Basis of Design (BoD) documents that prioritize power density, tiered redundancy, and long-term modular expansion.Act as a technical lead during presentations and design sessions, translating operational requirements into actionable architectural solutions.Maintain BIM models using Revit, coordinate with disciplines through federated models, and perform clash detection to minimize field issues.Apply codes and standards including IBC, NFPA, and TIA-942 to ensure compliance during design phases.Facilitate cross-discipline coordination to eliminate clashes and ensure system operability.Prepare and review construction documents and ensure technical accuracy for client approval and permitting.Conduct site assessments to verify conditions influencing architectural planning and system placement.Lead quality control reviews and mentor junior staff to enhance team competency.Manage submittal reviews and respond to RFIs to maintain project schedules.Document design changes through formal control processes to align with client expectations.Integrate sustainable design principles to support LEED documentation and minimize environmental impact.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program required.Licensed Architect with the ability to obtain necessary state registrations.A minimum of twelve years of professional experience, with most specializing in mission-critical data center design.In-depth understanding of scalable data center design principles.Thorough grasp of relevant codes and standards.Strong communication skills to interface effectively with clients and teams.Experience in mentoring junior architects and promoting professional development.Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually based on location, education, and relevant experience.
