Lead Infrastructure Architect

DescriptionThe Lead Infrastructure Architect QA designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Infrastructure Architect work assignments involve setting up the standards for the QA infrastructure testing lab, maintaining the lab environment, setup a standard intake process for the development teams using the lab service, review dependencies (upstream/downstream), process the request, and automate the tasks. Liaison and partner with enterprise application QA teams and SRE teams to establish Infrastructure QA standards and processes.ResponsibilitiesThe role will be responsible for overall infrastructure labs quality assurance and engineering practices for medium to large Infrastructure programs (WWT LAB, Tech Lab and EUC lab). The candidate is expected to drive standards and practices in a complex technology and infrastructure landscape. Team management mentoring and development skills are essential.Infrastructure architecture experience developing and maintaining test lab environmentsExperience working in a CoE (responsible for establishing, standards, intake, best practices, governance, automation)Vendor evaluation and relationship managementExperience working with budget (allocation, spend, optimization) and managing a team.4 or more years of program leadership experienceExperience integrating new technologies with existing technologies.Understand the larger business problem and the infrastructure solutionBuild collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholdersBuild long term quality strategy including infrastructure as software.Assess maturity and build improvement roadmapDrive quality initiatives for improving quality maturity for infrastructure groupReview, assess/develop and implement best practices aimed at improving qualityBe proficient with infrastructure specific QA activities, scope, types and levels of testingBe able to identify program quality activity scope; and build and execute test plan independently as well as with a teamHave a good understanding of infrastructure as a service modelHave a good understanding of cloud concepts and how quality initiatives are different in a cloud environmentPossess knowledge and experience in various infrastructure tools and technologies including but not limited to:Automation Tools - Anisbile, Ansible Tower, TerraformMonitoring tools - Systrack, dynatrace, Splunk and thousand eyes, orion, stealth watch, Solarwinds or nornirInfra Simulating tools - GNS3, IXIA, Shenick Diversified, iPerf, netPerfExperience in managing and overseeing various aspects of infrastructure including, network, end user computing, storage, Databases, end user experience and cloudHave experience in one or more of the following testing tools: JIRA, ALM, ADO, qTestHave experience in delivering large infrastructure projects using Agile Scrum methodologyUnderstand the role of test automation in infrastructure testing and be able to quickly implement automationHave solid understanding of metrics to implement and leverage metricsExcellent communication, listening, organization skills.
