Lead Project Architect

(Travel may be required)Prepare complete and coordinated Construction documents in compliance with all project requirements, while directing architectural designers and drafters.Review project correspondence and documentation to stay updated on progress and developments.Engage with clients as needed, either independently or in partnership with Project Managers.Participate in quality assurance and quality control checks for submitted projects.Organize review comments to ensure integration into design documents while adhering to Spur Design standards.Support development of tools and standards for BIM processes and Spur Design drafting standards.Assist in maintaining office systems, including trade libraries and filing systems.Contribute to marketing, promotional activities, and business growth initiatives.Collaborate with the Project Architect to coordinate teams and sub-consultants throughout all project phases. (Travel may be required)Help ensure that Construction documents meet project and code compliance.May lead small internal team meetings as necessary.Coordinate design reviews and team meetings as required.Conduct submittal reviews and manage responses to RFIs.Ensure adherence to local, federal, and VA TIL standards.Verify compliance with Spur drafting and quality control standards.Conduct on-site observations and create field reports based on site investigations.Engage in mentorship programs to empower Spur employees.Collaborate with the Director of Architecture for optimal staffing and resource allocation.Represent Spur Design with professionalism and integrity in all interactions. 3-6 years of professional experience (licensed).Registered Architect with up to 5 years of experience.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture is required.NCARB certification is preferred.High proficiency in relevant BIM and CAD software.Ability to lead and oversee the production of Construction documents.Portfolio showcasing completed designs.Familiarity with design software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit.Strong creative design skills with a capacity to deliver unique solutions.Excellent time management skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to interpret and read construction documents.Skill in generating and delivering field reports.Experience providing technical guidance to interns or junior designers.
