Lead Project Architect / Design Manager

We are looking for a talented Lead Project Architect / Design Manager to drive transformative design projects, located in Boise, ID, and Bellevue, WA. In this key role, you will oversee the delivery of complex architectural projects from inception to construction, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams at Jacobs. Guide architectural design and technical development from initial concept through to construction documentation and contract administration.Serve as project architect and/or design manager for medium to large-scale complex architectural projects—primarily for clients in the Northwest, which includes WA, ID, OR, HI, AK, MT, and the Dakotas.Coordinate efforts among multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, engineering, planning, interiors, and specialty consultants.Create and review detailed drawings, specifications, building systems, and code compliance documentation.Facilitate client presentations, design evaluations, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.Lead architectural team efforts during construction phases, overseeing responses to RFIs, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting site visits.Ensure high-quality design deliverables in alignment with Jacobs' stringent Quality Program.Manage project schedules, deliverables, and quality standards to meet scope and client expectations.Mentor junior architects and designers, promoting a collaborative project environment.Support design strategy, sustainability goals, and digital workflows (BIM/Revit).Collaborate with project managers to mitigate design risks and navigate technical challenges, ensuring successful project execution.Engage in seller-doer responsibilities as discussed with management.Qualifications: Experience with projects within the Puget Sound and/or Boise metropolitan areas.Background in advanced facilities, civic, institutional, aviation, or mixed-use projects, especially in the water and transportation sectors.Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods like Design-Build and Integrated Project Delivery.Strong design sensibility paired with technical expertise.Knowledge of sustainable design frameworks (LEED, WELL, Envision, etc. We promote a hybrid work environment that does not compromise the quality of service to our clients.
