Managing Director of Architecture

Market Leader/Studio Manager

Location: Onsite – 5 days per week

We are seeking an experienced Managing Director of Architecture to lead a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers while driving operational excellence, project quality, and business growth. This executive leadership role is ideal for a licensed architect with extensive experience managing teams, optimizing architectural operations, and delivering complex projects across multiple market sectors.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor architecture, design, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.Establish and maintain production, quality, and technical standards across the practice.Partner with executive leadership to develop strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives.Oversee resource planning, staff utilization, project scheduling, and operational performance.Drive QA/QC processes, project closeout procedures, and production consistency.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Promote a collaborative, design-focused culture while supporting employee development.Monitor project performance using ERP systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platforms.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architectural staff.Qualifications

Licensed Architect (Florida license preferred or ability to obtain).Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent.20+ years of architectural experience, including leadership within established architecture firms.Demonstrated success leading operations, managing teams, and improving business performance.Experience with complex project types such as Government, Healthcare, Aviation, and Mixed-Use developments is highly preferred.Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction documentation, building codes, and industry best practices.Exceptional communication, leadership, and presentation skills.Ideal Candidate
