Company Description Librarians by Design specializes in managing libraries for architecture and design (A+D) companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, supporting the flow of information and inspiration across design teams. These libraries are curated to be both practical reference resources and creative spaces that spark new ideas. Role Description The Materials Librarian is a part-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Materials Librarian provides guidance and informal instruction to design teams on how to locate and use library resources effectively, and may assist with creating displays or themed collections that support design inspiration. Familiarity with architecture and design materials and A+D industry products and trends.Knowledge of metadata standards and practices, including organizing and describing materials for efficient retrieval.Experience with library management, including cataloging, inventory control, and maintaining both physical and digital collections.Ability to provide library instruction or user support, helping teams understand and utilize library resources effectively.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Ability to work on-site with design professionals, vendors and manufacturers in a professional manner.
