McMAHON-BAEK ARCHITECTURE is currently seeking a Project Manager with 7-10+ years of professional office experience to work in their Architecture + Design studio located in Manhattan.
The work will focus on project management through drawing and information organization, detailed design, the control, coordination and optimization of building systems, and the ability to clearly articulate architectural language in the conceptual and built form, and most importantly, the ability to effectively communicate these ideas and objectives to the myriad people involved in all aspects of our projects.
A demonstrated and thorough understanding of the responsibilities of not only architectural production but also roles of contractors, trades, and vendors with respect to the design, estimating, procurement, fabrication, and installation of built work is highly valued.
The desire and ability to understand the impact of large and small design decisions on details, material tendencies and tolerances, construction and fabrication techniques, and high-quality and long lasting aesthetic results is critical to success in our office. While we appreciate (and value) any number of representational techniques, these are ultimately a means to an end towards the production of built projects.
For candidates willing to take on the responsibility of ensuring the quality and success of our projects, this is an opportunity to gain valuable experience, receive competitive compensation, and work in a professional and dedicated environment. Employees who demonstrate a strong understanding of construction and design management will also be eligible to work on our many Owner's Representation oriented projects located throughout the country.
The size of our office (small), general type of project (high-end residential / gallery), and depth which we engage our work (detailed, information-heavy, across a variety of disciplines, over a long period of time) requires a highly self-motivated individual who is flexible in their approach, and able to work well with a team and alone.
