### Description

**Summary**

APD is seeking a CAD Technician to work in a growing mechanical engineering department. This position will assist with producing mechanical CAD drawings for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure and facilities, recreation, education, and residential, with a heavy emphasis on retail design. Excellent opportunity for growth and advancement.

### Key Responsibilities

* Provide CAD support in preparing construction drawings for new and renovated buildings throughout the U.S., under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
* Contribute to project success, working under the direction of mechanical design team members.
* Contribute to improving company standards, design and drafting tools, attitude, and success.
* This position involves prolonged periods of desk-based work and computer use.
* Other duties as assigned.

### Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

**Minimum Qualifications**

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
* Strong understanding of construction documents and industry standards.
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong computer skills with excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Previous design experience with a mechanical engineering firm or client.
* Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit.
* Understanding of engineering practices.
* Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
* Associates degree in related design or engineering field.
