Role Overview
Responsibilities
This position serves as the primary technical architect for remediating the Comptroller Automation Platform (CAP) and leading architectural and development efforts across Office of Comptroller (OOC) initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
Enhancing code quality and addressing security vulnerabilitiesStrengthening the agency’s .NET infrastructureProviding hands-on technical guidance to development teamsModernizing legacy UI components (AngularJS, Kendo UI)Collaborating with the LaunchPads lead developer on complex technical changes
The role also involves reviewing remediated application code using SonarQube, ensuring maintainability, release readiness, and adherence to best practices.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldEquivalent work experience may substitute for formal education
Experience
Minimum 7 years of IT experience across multiple domainsAt least 2–3 years of architecture experienceAdvanced expertise in application architecture, systems design, and integration, particularly within the .NET ecosystem

Primary Duties
Design and document end-to-end application architectures in .NETDefine solution patterns (monolithic, modular monolith, microservices, event-driven)Establish architectural standards and guidelinesEvaluate and recommend technology stacksProvide technical leadership and mentorshipReview code and design artifacts for complianceSupport CI/CD integration and deployment strategiesGuide modernization and migration from legacy systems (e.g., COBOL/JCL → .NET)Identify and remediate technical debtProduce architectural diagrams, ADRs, and documentationCollaborate with business analysts and product owners to align technical solutions with business needs
