Networking Architect

Description Overview We’re partnering with a growing healthcare organization undergoing a major technology transformation. The CTO is seeking a hands-on technical leader to help stabilize infrastructure, lead key initiatives, and reduce day-to-day operational dependency. This is a high-impact role where you’ll act as a player-coach—owning architecture decisions while rolling up your sleeves to execute alongside a developing team. What You’ll Do Serve as the right hand to the CTO on infrastructure and security initiativesTake ownership of network, systems, and Microsoft ecosystem architectureLead and support a small team of engineers (mentor, guide, and elevate performance)Drive execution across multiple active projects in partnership with external vendorsStep into complex technical issues and resolve them without heavy directionHelp implement structure, documentation, and best practices where they don’t exist todayEnsure projects stay on track and reduce escalation dependency on leadershipKey Areas of Focus Infrastructure & Networking (Top Priority) Firewalls, site connectivity, and network troubleshootingHands-on support for upgrades, configurations, and deploymentsAbility to operate independently without step-by-step documentationMicrosoft Environment Azure (cloud infrastructure and services)ExchangeIntune (endpoint management)SCCM / Endpoint Configuration ManagerSecurity (Practical / Infrastructure-Aligned) Apply security best practices across infrastructure and cloudPartner with vendors on broader security initiativesSupport identity and access strategy (nice to have)Additional Exposure (Nice to Have) Cisco environments (networking / collaboration / voice systems)Healthcare IT experienceWhat Success Looks Like First 30 Days Embedded into ongoing projectsBuilds trust with CTO and teamBegins taking ownership of key technical areas60–90 Days Projects progressing smoothly with minimal bottlenecksTeam operating more independentlyCTO no longer the primary escalation point for technical issuesWhat We’re Looking For Strong background in infrastructure + networkingExperience across Microsoft enterprise environmentsSolid understanding of cybersecurity principles in practiceProven ability to operate as a hands-on technical leaderComfortable working in fast-moving, evolving environmentsAbility to teach, mentor, and elevate less experienced engineersSelf-starter who takes initiative and solves problems without waiting for directionIdeal Candidate Profile “Gets in the weeds” and enjoys hands-on problem solvingHas acted as a technical lead or architect without being fully removed from executionThrives in environments that need structure and technical directionComfortable being one of the most senior technical resources on a teamWhy This Role High visibility with executive leadership (CTO)Opportunity to shape infrastructure in a growing healthcare organizationPotential to evolve into a longer-term or expanded leadership roleImmediate impact—your work will directly improve team performance and system stability Encore Talent Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
