JOB SUMMARY

Join us at enGen as a Principal AI Solutions Architect to shape and drive our artificial intelligence vision. In this pivotal role, you will design the comprehensive ecosystem for AI models, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and seamlessly linked to our enterprise systems. As a key technical leader, you will translate strategic business objectives into effective architectural solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture of AI systems, including data pipelines, model storage, inference engines, and user interface integration. You will evaluate and select the most suitable technologies, such as LLMs, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks, to align with our future business strategies. Additionally, you will establish best practices for MLOps, ensuring consistent coding standards and effective model deployment.

Your expertise will ensure the creation of robust systems capable of handling high data throughput and enabling low-latency inference for immediate applications. A critical component of this role involves designing Human-in-the-loop systems and safeguards that prioritize data privacy, compliance with GDPR/CCPA, and AI safety. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, acting as the technical authority connecting Data Science, DevOps, and Product teams to align AI initiatives with our infrastructure capabilities.

Candidates should possess a strong architectural background with deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native patterns. Proficiency in creating complex data structures for both structured and unstructured data is essential, as is experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. Mastery of cloud platforms such as AWS (SageMaker), Azure (Azure ML), or GCP (Vertex AI) is required, along with a complete understanding of the AI lifecycle using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow and deployment tools like Kubeflow or MLflow. Familiarity with Generative AI, including Transformer architectures, RAG, and fine-tuning techniques, is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software engineering or data science, including at least 3 years in an architectural capacity. Familiarity with enterprise integration, especially the migration of legacy systems to AI-enhanced workflows, is a plus. This role also requires strong thought leadership, mentoring of senior engineers, and the ability to convey complex architectural decisions effectively to executives.

Essential skills for this position include strategic thinking, with an ability to foresee AI trends and adapt infrastructure accordingly. You should also possess strong cost management skills to optimize cloud expenditure on GPU/TPU resources, along with excellent communication abilities for documenting architectural patterns and leading technical reviews.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic consultations to business clients, defining and designing processes, functions, and organizational frameworks. Research, identify, and recommend enabling technologies based on customer needs.Design complex enterprise systems and solutions, ensuring the appropriate selection of design methods and standards. Lead reviews of system designs to optimize technology use and resource efficiency.Utilize modeling tools to contribute to the development of complex architectures. Translate component requirements into precise designs for implementation.Establish tools and methods for clarifying and communicating functional and non-functional user requirements.Lead significant improvement programs and address complex architecture and business problems.Communicate effectively with all organizational levels, managing expectations of customers, partners, and management.Engage in customer walkthroughs and designs, addressing issues and making decisions collaboratively.Collaborate with various departments to interpret complex requirements accurately.Maintain an in-depth technical understanding in your area of expertise, providing expert guidance.Lead and mentor peers in architectural practices and provide training where necessary.Prepare and deliver presentations on complex issues relevant to your expertise, ensuring alignment with strategic directions.Perform additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION

Pay Range Minimum: $118,400.00

Pay Range Maximum: $196,800.00
