Principal Enterprise Architect - Estimation Systems

job summary: Randstad is seeking a high-caliber Principal Enterprise Architect - Estimation Systems to serve as a key technical authority driving the R&D, design, and long-term evolution of advanced estimation platforms for a leading rail transportation client in the Washington, D.C. area. Sitting at the intersection of enterprise architecture leadership and advanced computational science, this role requires deep expertise in physics-based modeling, statistical algorithms, and real-time data processing. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams through major legacy-to-modernization transformations-bridging mainframes with modern cloud-native, event-driven architectures-while aligning solutions with enterprise standards (TOGAF, BizBOK, DAMA-DMBOK) across operational, planning, and financial domains. Modern Stack Proficiency: Deep technical knowledge of event-driven architectures, microservices, distributed systems, Java/Spring Boot, and real-time data frameworks alongside legacy systems (IBM Mainframe/TPF). Frameworks & Agile: Working experience with enterprise frameworks (TOGAF preferred, BizBOK, DAMA-DMBOK) and 5+ years of experience operating within SAFe or equivalent Agile-at-scale environments.
