We’re working on behalf of a confidential client that’s building a more scalable, configurable product platform. They’re hiring a Product Design and Architecture Engineer who can balance “big-picture architecture” with hands-on design execution.

Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related)
5+ years in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
Experience with top-down design and managing variants/options
Strong CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) and PDM tools (Vault or similar)
Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Project, Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality
Solid Excel/PowerPoint/Word skills and clear technical communication

What you’ll do as a Product Design and Architecture Engineer

Design modules and sub-systems using modular design principles (interfaces, envelopes, variant rules)
Maintain module structures and support configured offerings through rules-based tools/configurators (PALMA exposure is a plus)
Create and release 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings; support change control and downstream structures
Drive DFM/DFA input early with manufacturing and sourcing to protect cost and buildability
Support risk reviews (DFMEA/PFMEA) tied to module and interface changes
Assist with prototype builds, validation, and launch support to ensure designs meet requirements
