Project Architect

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our growing team in Pensacola, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated architect to lead and manage architectural projects in the Healthcare and K-12 industries, from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong design and technical skills, project leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a collaborative team environment. Essential functions and responsibilities include: • Lead and manage all phases of architectural projects, from programming and conceptual design through construction administration • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors • Coordinate and integrate work across disciplines to ensure design intent and project goals are met • Direct the development of construction documents in Revit • Prepare and review project deliverables, ensuring quality control and compliance with applicable codes and standards • Oversee and support junior architectural staff with guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise • Conduct site visits, field measurements, and construction observation • Respond to RFIs and submittals, review shop drawings during the construction phase • Participate in permitting processes, consultant coordination, and preparation of project manuals/specifications GMC is a multi-disciplined firm passionate about delivering impactful projects that improve the communities we serve.
