Project Architect

As part of our collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to project planning, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration while coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Depending on your experience and skill set, you may also participate in conceptual design, programming, planning, scope development, and other early-stage project activities that help shape successful project outcomes. Leads project team working within the GMC Architecture Community framework respecting team structure, project roles and responsibilities, and utilization of production tools and standards.Member of multi-office architecture practice sharing, contributing, and learning best practices for delivering exceptional projects that include local government/civic, academic and healthcare.Broad general knowledge of architectural principles and practices, and proven ability to apply them.Ability to function effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.Ability to work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.Understanding of the entire project process-development/scoping, design, and construction.Ability to design and detail a complete project, system component or process.Prepares complete project documents including the Project Manual/SpecificationsUnderstands economic and decision analysis principles in area including financial, regulatory, and environmental issues.Proficient in Revit Architecture, and complementary design tools.Assigns tasks to and directs architects, technicians, and administrative staff.Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the architectural work.Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of architectural assignment.Demonstrates leadership skills and continuous improvement with decision-making time management and delegation.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural programMinimum of 7+ years of relevant experienceRegistered Architect or completed NCARB ProgramProficient in RevitMust be able to listen and communicate effectivelyMust be a self-starter, team player and able to establish good working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, team members, and other employeesStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to balance multiple projects and meet deadlinesAbility to adapt to changing business needsAbility to use good judgment and make timely decisionsTravel requirements: GMC Architecture is a nationwide practice with clients, completed projects and active projects in 36 states.
