Position Overview
ARCHITECHNICA is seeking a Project Architect to lead the technical development, coordination, and delivery of public-sector architectural projects, with a primary focus on K–12 educational facilities.
This role requires experience working on DSA projects, including familiarity with regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and coordination processes typical of California public-school work. The Project Architect will work closely with Project Managers and project teams to guide projects from programming through construction while ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project programming, coordination, and scheduling in collaboration with project leadershipGuide design development using hand sketching, SketchUp, Revit, and presentation toolsOversee and contribute to construction document development using RevitPrepare and coordinate project specifications writingSupport and validate cost estimating effortsCoordinate bidding and contractor procurement processesPerform construction observation and coordinate with contractors and consultantsLead contract administration, including submittals, RFIs, and construction-phase documentationSupport business development efforts, including client interaction and proposal contributionsMentor and support project team members, ensuring effective coordination across all phases
Qualifications
Active California Architect license required, or ability to obtain within one year if licensed in another stateStrong proficiency in Revit requiredDemonstrated experience leading project documentation and coordinationExperience with DSA projects and K–12 educational facilities strongly preferred (required for senior-level candidates)Working knowledge of California public-sector project delivery and regulatory processesStrong communication, organizational, and leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and maintain project momentum
