Project Architect - Historic Preservation

Perspectus is seeking an architect or emerging professional with at least 8 years of professional experience to join a dynamic, design-focused practice specializing in the preservation and adaptive reuse of historic and existing structures. Manage historic preservation projects through all phases, from assessment and planning to construction administrationPrepare architectural drawings, specifications, and preservation treatment recommendationsDevelop rehabilitation and adaptive reuse strategies for historic propertiesEnsure compliance with preservation regulations and guidelines, including the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Historic ArchitectureResearch building history, materials, and construction techniquesConduct building condition assessments, historic structure reports, and architectural investigationsCoordinate with preservation commissions, state historic preservation offices, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholdersReview contractor submittals and monitor construction activities to ensure preservation objectives are achievedDocument existing conditions using field surveys, photography, and digital modeling toolsMentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts Registered Architect or on a path to registrationGenerally familiar with Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic PropertiesKnowledge of historic building materials, traditional construction methods, and conservation practiceProven track record in the development of design documents and meeting deadlinesFamiliarity with federal, state, and local historic preservation regulationsProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative SuiteStrong technical writing and documentation skills Perspectus is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to equal opportunity without regard to race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, citizenship, disability or any other basis of discrimination prohibited by applicable local, state or federal law.
