Project Architect – Mixed-Use & Transit-Oriented Development

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Project Architect to become a key member of our team and help establish the design standards, technical excellence, and collaborative culture that will define our company for years to come. The Project Architect is responsible for leading the planning, design, documentation, and execution of multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and transit-oriented development projects from concept through construction. Lead multifamily, mixed-use, retail, urban infill, and transit-oriented development projects through every phase, including: Site Planning, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Permitting, Construction AdministrationTranslate design concepts into technically sound, efficient, and buildable solutions while maintaining the original design intent.Prepare architectural drawings, diagrams, presentation materials, and project documentation that clearly communicate design vision.Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.Lead technical discussions with ownership, the development team, municipalities, consultants, and general contractors throughout all phases of design and construction.Guide project teams through design decisions, technical challenges, permitting requirements, and project milestones.Participate in design reviews, technical reviews, and QA/QC processes while maintaining firm standards for quality and consistency.Technical Leadership & Documentation Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.Approximately 4–15 years of professional architectural experience.Demonstrated experience leading multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and urban development projects through all phases.Strong experience with podium-style multifamily construction (concrete podium with wood-frame residential above).Experience with stand-alone retail buildings.Demonstrated success coordinating consultants and leading multidisciplinary project teams.Strong knowledge of construction documentation, detailing, building systems, and constructability.Thorough understanding of applicable building codes, zoning, accessibility, and permitting processes.Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.Architectural licensure is preferred but not required for outstanding candidates.Preferred Software Experience You'll help shape projects from the earliest stages of planning, collaborate directly with ownership and the development team, and influence decisions that determine the long-term success of each community we build.
