Project Architect (Poughkeepsie)

About the Role

The client is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join its dynamic Poughkeepsie office. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing projects from design through execution while serving as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and municipal agencies.

The ideal candidate will bring 12–15+ years of professional architecture experience, strong project management and leadership skills, and advanced proficiency with Revit and BIM.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day management of architectural projects from design through completion.Oversee design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and project delivery.Manage client communication, project schedules, budgets, and overall project coordination.Lead and mentor project team members while coordinating internal and external stakeholders.Utilize Revit, BIM, and Enscape for design development, visualization, documentation, and coordination.Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.Manage municipal entitlements, approvals, and permitting processes.Review drawings and project documents for quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes.Represent the firm professionally with clients, municipalities, consultants, and project teams.Qualifications

12–15+ years of professional architecture experience with demonstrated project management responsibility.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.Registered Architect preferred.Strong proficiency in Revit, BIM, and Enscape.Proven experience leading architectural projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.Strong knowledge of design, documentation, codes, permitting, and municipal approval processes.Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.Must be local to Dutchess, Orange, or Ulster County, NY.Must be comfortable working full-time, in-office in Poughkeepsie, NY.
