JAM is seeking a Project Architect with 7-10 years of post-graduate work experience in high-end residential architecture.

We are a multidisciplinary firm based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with current work throughout New York City, and nationwide. Our mission is to provide clients with a radically thoughtful design experience, emphasizing longevity and visual harmony. Our new homes are deeply rooted to the existing landscape through a strong connection between materiality and site.

We fully lean into new technology and are constantly improving how we operate as a firm through collaborative input from our team. We continually strive to elevate how our designs can be conveyed to our clients as well as contractors to push the envelope of what’s possible.

We are looking for a Project Architect who shares our passion for residential work and is looking for long-term career growth. We have several new projects that need a motivated and self-starting architect to work directly with the firm Principals on all phases of design and construction.

Responsibilities Would Include

Lead residential projects in various project phases from schematic design through construction close outLead client meetings and site visits and record meeting minutesOversee and delegate tasks to junior architectural staff as well as teach, empower and set an example for other team membersCreate and manage project schedules and internal deadlinesPrepare and collaborate on client presentationsSource and present architectural finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and architectural lightingDesign custom millwork and furnitureLead and/or generate architectural plans and construction documents, details and specifications for a variety of residential construction types Lead and participate in field measuring and documentation of existing conditions including precise measurements of existing moldings and profiles when necessaryLead coordination with expeditor/code consultant regarding permit drawings and paperwork from initial submission through project close outRequest proposals and oversee coordination of all consultant drawings and specifications (Engineers, Consultants, Vendors)Lead construction administrationAbility and willingness to travel outside of New York City for site meetings, potentially with overnight stays

Qualifications

Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution7-10 years of post-graduate work experience, high-end residential experience mandatoryExperience with NYC building codes and working with expeditorsExperience with Landmarks and NYC DOB filing processesStrong proficiency in RevitStrong proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam and Adobe Suite.Experience with Lumion is preferredLegally authorized to work in the U.S. and fluent in English (written and spoken)

Compensation And Benefits
