The candidate should be able to work with direction from the firm principal while also leading and encouraging younger staff and emerging professionals. The ideal candidate must be a licensed design professional. Employment Incentives: Signing bonus for an outstanding candidate after 60 days of exceptional work Relocation stipend for successful candidates that are not in Wake, Durham, or Orange counties of NC• Flexible work schedule upon written request and approval by the firm principal 401K with matching contributions up to 4% Employer-Paid Healthcare coverage that includes medical, vision and dental for employee Firm pays for annual membership in AIA, NOMA and NCARB Qualifications: Professional degree in architecture from an accredited NAAB institution within United States Licensed architect - any jurisdiction (50 states) in the United States Reciprocity and licensure in NC will be firm-paid if the successful candidate is not licensed in NC # LEED Accredited professional is preferred 5+ years of professional experience post-licensure Required Skills: Proficient in Revit and Managing projects in BIM 360 Proficient in SketchUp or Rhino Strong knowledge of project visualization and representation of projects Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Strong knowledge of creating effective and efficient construction documents Knowledge, commensurate of experience, for construction techniques, building codes, life safety, and materials Enjoy a rigorous and challenging design studio that enjoys having fun while producing amazing and award-winning architecture Responsibilities: Collaboration with a talented and creative design team to help inform the design development of the studio's projects Working with the firm's design principal in coordinating the technical performance of each project assigned to the candidate including sustainability goals and objectives Working closely with the entire design team to create the project deliverables including schematic design, design development and construction documents Working with the firm's other licensed design professionals to oversee the construction administration of the candidate's assigned project(s) Proactively managing the consultant team and adhere to the project deliverable and schedule. Project cost management responsibilities for the candidate's project(s) will be managed in collaboration with the AJA's design principal Apply sound decision-making skills in assisting the project team in moving the project(s) forward through constructability reviews and discussions with the firm's design principal and other licensed professionals Desire and ability to mentor emerging professionals in the studio that are on the path to licensure •Stipend is reserved for candidates currently residing in the U.S. #Some restrictions apply AJA is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
