Project Manager / Landscape Architect

We are landscape architects and placemakers, designing and delivering spaces that shape how people experience the built environment.

Ironwood Design Group is a landscape architecture and master planning practice with offices in Atlanta and Nashville, working on projects across the country. Our work spans mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, and public realm environments, with an emphasis on placemaking and the integration of landscape with architecture and infrastructure.

We are actively involved from early concept and master planning through construction, working closely with clients and consultants to deliver thoughtful, high-performing projects.

Project Managers at Ironwood lead projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring design quality, client service, and project profitability are consistently achieved. PMs serve as the primary point of contact for clients and are responsible for project execution, including planning, documentation, financial management, and team coordination.

This role is suited for professionals who enjoy both design and execution and are looking for meaningful responsibility within a collaborative, design-focused studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through construction documentation and implementation

• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and public agencies

• Guide design direction during master planning and concept phases

• Oversee construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and construction coordination

• Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and scope alignment

• Mentor and coordinate Project Designers and Designers

• Support marketing, proposals, and business development efforts

• Maintain strong billable utilization and contribute to overall studio success

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture

• Experience managing commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, and public realm projects

• Strong understanding of construction documentation and implementation

• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and complex project approvals

• Licensed Landscape Architect (or on licensure track)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Revit/BIM and visualization tools is a plus

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes bonus potential based on individual and firm performance.
