Position Overview: Project Manager / Senior Architect

We are seeking a talented, full-time Project Manager / Senior Architect to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a great designer, highly motivated, well-organized, thoughtful, and has experience working as part of a design team on large projects. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enjoy collaborating with others, and be reliable, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple aspects of client, project, and general contractor coordination, including full documentation coordination with Tighe Architecture’s design and engineering consultantsWork as part of a team overseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure harmony with project scope, design, budget, client goals, consultant coordination and core requirementsLead design meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholdersPerform design assignments across all phases: programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentationPrepare presentations, renderings, and other materials to elegantly convey design ideasParticipate in the selection and presentation of FF&E, color palettes, and lightingMaintain project manuals and specificationsConduct and document on-site observations and process submittals, RFI’s, substitution requests, etc. during constructionInterface with local building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of projectsEnsure accuracy on technical and other project-related issues while enhancing design through strong technical support

Skills / Requirements

Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited school5-15 years of relevant professional experienceRegistered Architect preferred, but not requiredProficiency in Revit is required; familiarity with Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) also expectedStrong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with attention to detailAbility to lead and direct multiple design teams and projects during different phasesMust be able to work locally at our L.A. office with authorization to work in the United States

Desired Experience

Experience as a project architect with a strong background in commercial towers and multifamily / mixed-use projectsDirect project experience working within Los Angeles building standards and regulationsStrong experience in building codes, local permitting, entitlement process, and building constructionExperience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with design and engineering consultants
