RESIDENT ARCHITECT / PROJECT ENGINEER

Industrial & Cold Storage Construction

Member Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Resident Architect / Project Engineer to join our growing industrial construction team in South Texas.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial construction, cold storage facilities, tilt-wall construction, and commercial/industrial building projects. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the Company's on-site representative during construction.
Monitor daily construction activities and verify work is being performed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project management.
Review architectural, structural, civil, MEP, refrigeration, and other construction drawings.
Identify conflicts, discrepancies, and field conditions and coordinate resolutions with the appropriate project team members.
Monitor construction progress, schedule, manpower, materials, and project milestones.
Assist with project scheduling and coordination of subcontractors.
Conduct daily site observations and maintain accurate field reports, photographs, and documentation.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
Assist with inspections, municipal requirements, and coordination with engineers and consultants.
Verify dimensions, elevations, layouts, and construction details in the field.
Monitor quality control and identify deficiencies requiring correction.
Coordinate and oversee tilt-wall panel construction and erection activities.
Coordinate construction activities associated with cold storage facilities, including insulated panels, refrigeration systems, dock areas, ripening rooms, MEP systems, and related infrastructure.
Assist Project Management with cost, schedule, and change-order coordination.
Attend project meetings and provide accurate field updates.
Maintain a professional and safe jobsite environment.
Be available to work extended hours, early mornings, weekends, or holidays when required by concrete pours, tilt-wall erection, inspections, critical deliveries, or project schedules.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Strong preference will be given to candidates with:

Proven experience in industrial construction.
Direct experience with cold storage / refrigerated warehouse construction.
Tilt-wall construction experience, including panel layout, erection, connections, and coordination.
Experience reading and interpreting architectural and structural construction drawings.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and construction trades.
Experience working with concrete, steel, MEP systems, building envelopes, and industrial facilities.
Knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and field coordination.
Ability to identify construction issues and develop practical solutions.
Strong computer and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field preferred.
Architectural or Engineering degree from an accredited institution.

Professional Cédula is required for candidates applying based on a Mexican professional degree.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Candidates who are not currently authorized to work in the U.S. may be considered for employer-supported work visa sponsorship, subject to eligibility, educational requirements, professional credentials, applicable U.S. immigration requirements, and Company approval.

Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Company benefits become available after one year of continuous employment, subject to Company policies and eligibility requirements.

Additional compensation and opportunities may be available based on experience, performance, responsibilities, and project requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is primarily an on-site construction position. The successful candidate should be prepared to spend the majority of the workday at active industrial construction sites and interact directly with project personnel and subcontractors.
