SAP Technical Architect

Note: This role requires travel to Harrisburg, PASummaryThe SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Private Edition (RISE) Architect will lead the design and implementation of a greenfield SAP S/4 HANA RISE deployment. This role is instrumental in defining the architecture and guiding the technical direction of the SAP landscape in close collaboration with system integrators, business process owners, subject matter experts (SMEs), and internal IT teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SAP ERP architecture, cloud deployment models, and integration frameworks to ensure performance, scalability, and extensibility aligned with business objectives. In parallel, the ideal candidate will be immediately able to facilitate fit-to-standard discussions while collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders on future state strategy.ResponsibilitiesLead the overall architecture and design of the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Private Edition (RISE) greenfield implementation, including infrastructure, application components, integrations, and extensibility strategies.Solution Design: Collaborate with business and functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable SAP solutions across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and other core domains.Integration Oversight: Guide integration strategies between SAP S/4 HANA and non-SAP systems using SAP BTP, APIs, EDI, and other relevant technologies.Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, system integrators, and technical teams to align solution design with business needs and technical feasibility.Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and governance processes to ensure consistency and future-proofing of the SAP environment.Performance & Scalability: Optimize solution design for high availability, system performance, and scalability, leveraging SAP best practices and RISE with SAP capabilities.Extensibility Planning: Leverage SAP BTP, embedded analytics, and side‑by‑side extensions to maintain a clean core and enable innovation beyond standard ERP capabilities.Cloud and Security: Ensure cloud‑native design principles, data protection standards, and cybersecurity policies are embedded into all architecture decisions.Quality Assurance: Review and validate technical deliverables from system integrators and internal teams to ensure alignment with architecture and quality standards.RequirementsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field10+ years of experience in SAP architecture and implementation, with recent hands‑on experience in S/4 HANA (Cloud or On‑Premise)3+ years working with the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Private Edition (RISE) or similar SAP Cloud Managed ServicesDeep understanding of SAP technical components: SAP BTP, Fiori, ABAP, CPI, HANA DB, CDS Views, etc.Demonstrated experience with greenfield or large‑scale SAP implementationsStrong knowledge of SAP’s cloud roadmap, clean core principles, and modular deployment strategiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teamsPreferredSAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4 HANA or relevant SAP certificationsExperience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms in relation to SAP hostingFamiliarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery modelsPersonal CharacteristicsStrategic thinker with hands‑on execution skillsProactive, self‑motivated, and results‑orientedStrong leadership and stakeholder management abilitiesPassion for leveraging technology to drive business value
