Senior Application Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Architect to design, architect, modernize, and support enterprise applications across a diverse portfolio of mission-critical systems. This role will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, and high-performing application architectures, leading modernization initiatives, implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in application architecture, cloud technologies, web platforms, and enterprise integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, document, and oversee scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise application solutions.Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for a portfolio of enterprise applications and services.Design, build, configure, and support IIS web servers across development, testing, and production environments.Design and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Okta, SAML, and related identity management technologies.Integrate enterprise applications with content management systems and authentication platforms.Lead modernization initiatives for legacy applications through cloud-native architecture, application modernization, and containerization strategies.Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, security teams, and database administrators to ensure application performance, compliance, and reliability.Analyze existing applications and infrastructure to identify and resolve architectural, performance, scalability, and security issues.Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, and implementation guidelines.Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture frameworks, cybersecurity policies, and operational best practices.Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development and engineering teams.Support application integration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting activities across enterprise environments.Participate in architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and strategic planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale application architectures.Strong expertise in enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.TOGAF® (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification.Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or CITA-Professional (IASA Global) certification.One or more cloud architecture certifications, including:AWS Certified Solutions Architect - ProfessionalMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertGoogle Professional Cloud ArchitectEquivalent cloud architecture certificationsStrong experience with:.NET / .NET CoreWeb API 2.0JavaJavaScript, jQuery, ReactHTML5 and BootstrapExperience with web server technologies including IIS, Apache, and WAMP.Experience administering and supporting Windows Server and Linux environments.Expertise in SSO technologies, including Okta and SAML.Strong database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Developer, and related database tools.Experience with API testing and troubleshooting tools such as Postman.Experience with network analysis and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting criminal justice, public safety, law enforcement, or government systems.Experience integrating with federal, state, or external information-sharing platforms.Experience working in government, public sector, or highly regulated environments.Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers and engineers.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives.
