DiCicco Development, Inc. · Pittsburgh, PA · Full-Time
About DiCicco Development
DiCicco Development is a premier, fully integrated commercial real estate development and ownership firm specializing in Class A office buildings in Pittsburgh. We own and operate a portfolio exceeding one million square feet and are known for rigorous design standards, exceptional construction quality, and long-term tenant relationships. Our lean, senior team makes decisions quickly and holds its work to a high standard.
The opportunity
We are seeking a senior commercial architect to join our in-house design and construction team, working directly alongside our Registered Architect who serves as Director of Design & Construction. This is a substantive role for someone with genuine architectural training and deep experience in commercial office design, not a project management position with architectural exposure.
You will be involved in the full arc of each project: programming and design through construction administration and closeout. Over time, as our Director moves toward retirement, there is a clear and intentional path to assuming a senior leadership role within the organization.
This is an owner-side position. Your designs get built. You are not a vendor.
What you’ll doDesign leadership
Lead architectural design and space planning for tenant improvements, build-outs, and capital projects across our Class A portfolio
Develop design solutions that balance functional requirements, tenant experience, and budget reality
Produce and refine construction documents and architectural drawings in AutoCAD
Conduct programming sessions with tenants to understand spatial, functional, and aesthetic needs
Communicate design intent clearly to ownership, tenants, contractors, and building staff
Construction administration
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from design through construction closeout
Serve as owner’s representative during construction, overseeing contractors and subcontractors, conducting site observations, and ensuring conformance with design and specifications
Collaborate with the Facilities team and tenants to assess portfolio assets, address space needs, and ensure continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs; manage change orders and field conditions
Verify code compliance (IBC, ADA, life safety) and coordinate with building facilities for smooth transitions to occupancy
Maintain accurate as-built documentation for our portfolio
Strategic involvement
Collaborate directly with ownership on design standards, capital planning, and portfolio strategy
Work closely with our Director of Design & Construction, with increasing responsibility over time
Serve as a trusted institutional voice on design quality and construction best practices
