Senior Architect, Sustainable Building Design

Our client is a forward-thinking architectural firm seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architect to lead sustainable building design projects. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of environmentally conscious construction, focusing on innovative and energy-efficient designs. You will be responsible for the full architectural design process, from conceptualization and schematic design through construction documentation and administration. A key emphasis will be placed on integrating sustainable design principles, including energy modeling, passive design strategies, material selection for reduced environmental impact, and water conservation systems.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL) and a proven ability to incorporate these standards into project designs. You will collaborate closely with clients, engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical), contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet all sustainability goals and building codes. Responsibilities include leading design teams, developing detailed architectural plans and specifications using BIM software (e.g., Revit), and overseeing construction phases to ensure design integrity. Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills are essential for client engagement and team coordination.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required, along with a professional architectural license (RA) in Utah (or the ability to obtain one). A minimum of 8 years of progressive architectural experience, with a significant focus on sustainable design and project management, is mandatory. Proven experience leading complex projects from inception to completion is essential. Demonstrated expertise in energy modeling software and green building practices is required.
