This role is for an individual passionate about sustainable design principles and innovative building solutions. You will lead the design process for challenging and impactful projects, from conceptualization through to construction documentation, ensuring a commitment to aesthetic excellence, functional integrity, and environmental responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in sustainable architecture, proficiency in advanced design software, and a collaborative spirit. You will play a key role in mentoring junior designers and contributing to the firm's reputation for cutting-edge design.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design development for architectural projects, from schematic design through construction documentation, with a focus on sustainable and innovative solutions. Translate client needs and project requirements into compelling design concepts that are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and environmentally conscious. Produce high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, and models using industry-standard software. Conduct thorough research on sustainable building materials, technologies, and methodologies. Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the design and construction process. Mentor and guide junior architectural designers, fostering their professional development. Prepare and present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders. Contribute to the firm's design standards and innovation initiatives. Oversee the integration of sustainable design strategies, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, and material lifecycle considerations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Professional Architect (RA) license or progress towards licensure is highly desirable. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a significant portfolio demonstrating expertise in sustainable design. Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite. Deep understanding of sustainable design principles, LEED certification process, and energy modeling tools. Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and materials. Excellent design sensibility, creativity, and attention to detail. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead design teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in client relations and project management is a significant advantage.
