Senior Architectural Designer

Our client, a renowned architectural firm celebrated for its innovative and sustainable design solutions, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join their dynamic practice in Jacksonville, Florida . This role is pivotal in leading the design process from conceptualization through to construction documentation, ensuring design excellence and adherence to client requirements and project objectives. You will be instrumental in translating creative visions into functional and aesthetically compelling built environments.

You will be responsible for developing design concepts, creating detailed architectural drawings and renderings, coordinating with engineering consultants, and managing design team members. Key responsibilities include:
Leading the design development of architectural projects from conceptualization to final construction documents. Developing innovative design concepts and translating them into compelling visual presentations and detailed drawings. Producing high-quality architectural renderings, models, and visualizations to communicate design intent. Coordinating effectively with structural, MEP, and other engineering consultants throughout the design process. Ensuring designs comply with all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Preparing detailed construction documents, specifications, and schedules. Reviewing shop drawings and submittals during the construction administration phase. Mentoring and guiding junior designers and architects on the team. Collaborating closely with clients to understand their vision and requirements, ensuring client satisfaction. Staying current with architectural trends, materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices. Contributing to the firm's design standards and intellectual capital.
Qualifications for this leadership role:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Registered Architect (RA) license in Florida is required, or the ability to obtain licensure promptly. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership and project completion. Proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and rendering programs (e.g., 3ds Max, V-Ray). Thorough understanding of building codes, zoning ordinances, and construction methods. Excellent conceptual design skills and a strong sense of aesthetics and spatial organization. Proven ability to lead and motivate a design team. Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
