Senior Architectural Designer - Sustainable Design

Our client, a forward-thinking architectural firm located in Huntsville, Alabama, US , is seeking a talented Senior Architectural Designer with a specialization in Sustainable Design. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, a deep understanding of sustainable building practices, and expertise in leading design phases from conceptualization through to project documentation. You will collaborate closely with clients, engineers, and consultants to integrate sustainable principles into every aspect of the design process. Key responsibilities include: leading the conceptualization and development of architectural designs with a strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and occupant well-being; producing high-quality design presentations, renderings, and construction documents; ensuring designs meet relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL); collaborating with engineering disciplines to integrate sustainable systems (HVAC, lighting, water management) effectively; managing design schedules and deliverables; coordinating with clients to understand their vision and translate it into sustainable design solutions; mentoring junior designers and providing technical guidance; staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in sustainable architecture and materials; and contributing to the firm's reputation for innovative and environmentally conscious design. This role requires a balance of creative vision, technical proficiency, and a passion for green building.
