Senior Architectural Designer

Our client, a highly respected architectural firm located in Provo, Utah, US , is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Designer. This role is critical for leading design initiatives on a variety of commercial, institutional, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional design sensibility, a mastery of architectural visualization tools, and a deep understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainable design practices. You will be instrumental in translating client visions into innovative and functional architectural solutions, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the firm's design reputation.

Responsibilities: Lead the conceptual design and development phases for architectural projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and project objectives. Produce high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, 3D models, and presentations using industry-leading software. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients throughout the design process. Develop detailed design documentation, including schematic designs, design development documents, and construction documents. Conduct thorough research on materials, building systems, and innovative construction techniques. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring design quality. Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and solutions. Contribute to the development of the firm's design standards and best practices. Stay current with architectural trends, technologies, and sustainable design strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program. Professional Architect (RA) license is highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership on diverse project types. Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion). Demonstrated experience in leading design teams and managing project phases. Strong understanding of construction administration and building codes. Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of sustainable design principles and certifications (e.g., LEED) is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
