Senior Architectural Designer

Our client, an award-winning architectural firm, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join their innovative practice in Des Moines, Iowa, US . This role is instrumental in leading design concepts, developing detailed architectural plans, and overseeing projects from conception through completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design expertise, excellent technical skills, and a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design process for various architectural projects, from conceptualization to final construction documents. Develop innovative and creative design solutions that meet client objectives, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements. Prepare high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, models, and presentations for client meetings and project approvals. Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams to ensure design integrity and project success. Oversee and mentor junior designers and drafters, providing technical guidance and design direction. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Select appropriate building materials, finishes, and systems to achieve design intent and project goals. Conduct site visits and analyze project sites to inform design decisions. Manage project timelines and contribute to budget control efforts related to design phases. Stay current with architectural trends, new technologies, and sustainable design practices. Contribute to the firm's reputation for design excellence and innovation. The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in architectural design. Licensure as a Registered Architect (RA) or Architect (AI) is highly preferred. A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design talent, proficiency in architectural software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite), and a deep understanding of construction methods are essential. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage projects and collaborate with diverse teams.
