Senior Architectural Designer - Sustainable Design Focus

Lead the design of innovative and sustainable architectural projects as a Senior Architectural Designer. Our client is seeking a highly creative and technically proficient designer to join their award-winning team. This role demands a passion for creating environmentally responsible and aesthetically compelling spaces, from conceptualization through to construction documentation. You will be responsible for translating client needs and visions into functional, beautiful, and sustainable designs, working collaboratively with project teams, consultants, and contractors. A deep understanding of architectural principles, building codes, sustainable design strategies (e.g., LEED), and proficiency in advanced design software are essential. Responsibilities:
Lead the design development process for architectural projects, from schematic design through construction documents. Develop creative design concepts that meet client objectives and adhere to project budgets and schedules. Integrate sustainable design principles and strategies into all aspects of the design process. Prepare detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and specifications. Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as landscape architects and interior designers. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards. Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies. Review shop drawings and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction. Mentor and guide junior architectural designers. Stay current with architectural trends, building technologies, and sustainable design innovations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Minimum of 7 years of professional architectural design experience. Licensed Architect (RA) or NCARB certification is highly desirable. Proven experience with sustainable design practices and LEED accreditation is a strong plus. Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of construction methods and materials. Excellent graphic presentation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Strong leadership and team collaboration capabilities. A portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality architectural designs, with an emphasis on sustainability.
