Senior Architectural Historian (Cultural Resources Lead)

As a Senior Architectural Historian, you will spearhead cultural resources projects across the southeastern United States, with a focus on vital transportation, water, and energy infrastructure initiatives. We are currently seeking cultural resources support for projects in Georgia and Tennessee, and there may be opportunities to lead additional projects throughout the United States. This role offers you the chance to work on significant projects that require compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and various cultural resource regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in historic preservation or a related discipline. Expertise in all aspects of the Section 106 process, including: Delineating an Area of Potential Effect Initiating consultations with stakeholders Conducting literature reviews and background research Developing historical contexts Organizing and conducting field surveys Making National Register eligibility determinations Preparing Assessment of Effects reports Developing and implementing agreement documents Documenting through the Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record/Historic American Landscape Study In-depth knowledge of environmental procedures for identifying and evaluating historic resources in Georgia and Tennessee, especially with the Georgia and Tennessee Departments of Transportation.
