Senior Building Architect

Our client, a renowned architectural firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Building Architect to join their esteemed practice in **Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, US**. This is an on-site position demanding creativity, technical proficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of building design and construction. You will lead architectural projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring designs are aesthetically pleasing, functionally sound, and meet all regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong portfolio showcasing diverse architectural achievements.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of architectural projects, from initial concept and schematic design through construction documents and administration. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, vision, and project objectives. Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using relevant software. Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements. Coordinate with engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and other consultants to integrate their designs into the overall architectural plan. Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial constraints. Conduct site visits and construction administration to oversee project progress and address any issues that arise. Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors. Mentor and guide junior architects and design staff. Present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders. Maintain high standards of design quality and professional practice. Research and implement sustainable design principles and technologies. Stay current with architectural trends, materials, and construction techniques. Foster positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Contribute to business development efforts and proposal preparation. Qualifications: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree from an accredited institution. Licensed Architect (RA/RIBA or equivalent) in the state of Oklahoma, or ability to obtain licensure promptly. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management. Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction methodologies. Excellent understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Demonstrated ability in project management, client relations, and team leadership. Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to create compelling visual presentations. Experience with sustainable design practices (e.g., LEED) is a plus. A keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
