Senior Landscape Architect / Project Manager

Full-Time (Salaried Position)

H. Edward Black and Associates Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Landscape Architect/Project Manager with a passion for innovative site design and land development. This full-time, salaried position offers the opportunity to join a creative and dynamic team at a well-established firm with over 50 years of expertise.

Founded in 1972, H. Edward Black and Associates Ltd. (HEB/A) is a respected Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering firm in Harrisburg, PA. Our team works on diverse projects, ranging from residential and commercial developments to urban park designs, each with a focus on innovation and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

▪ Lead design and development for land development plans, site grading, and landscape architecture, with a strong focus on innovative site design solutions.

▪ Master Planning

▪ Oversee project bidding, and construction phases, ensuring high-quality results.

▪ Manage landscape design for a variety of project types

▪ Demonstrate knowledge of the land development process in Pennsylvania, including municipal review and permitting.

▪ Lead project teams, coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and staff, ensuring effective communication throughout project phases.

▪ Present at public meetings and hearings with Boards and Commissions.

▪ Develop design concepts and produce detailed construction documents for permitting.

▪ Manage a small design team while promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.

▪ Prepare proposals and grant applications when necessary.

▪ Create compelling graphic and technical design materials to communicate concepts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

▪ A deep understanding of land development planning, site grading, and landscape architecture.

▪ Proven project management experience, including municipal review processes and public presentations.

▪ Strong communication skills, both with clients and project stakeholders.

▪ Knowledge of landscape architecture design and technical standards.

▪ Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

▪ Experience leading a team and collaborating with cross-disciplinary staff.

▪ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Adobe Photoshop.

▪ Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Education and Qualifications:

▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.

▪ A minimum of 5 years of experience in land development, project management and landscape architecture.

▪ Registered Landscape Architect in Pennsylvania.
