Role Overview
We're looking for a highly skilled Data Platform Cloud Architect to join our North America Cloud Engineering team, focusing on the Financial Services Sector. This key role blends extensive technical expertise with industry insights and executive engagement, enabling our customers to upgrade their data ecosystems and drive transformative business change using Oracle's Data Platform solutions.
The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, sales teams, and Oracle leadership, guiding strategic opportunities from identification to technical success and widespread customer adoption. Engage closely with executive stakeholders and leaders to craft innovative solutions that address pivotal business challenges and yield quantifiable value.
As a prominent technical leader, you will shape customer technology strategies, support intricate sales initiatives, and influence Oracle’s market approach within the Financial Services landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales teams to identify, qualify, and progress strategic opportunities related to Oracle’s Data Platform. Establish trust with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, Chief Analytics Officers, and other key executives in financial services organizations. Facilitate technical discovery meetings to comprehend customers' business objectives and transformation goals. Design and present compelling business and technical solutions utilizing Oracle's cloud and data technologies. Create executive-level presentations, solution strategies, and technical proposals that showcase Oracle's value. Serve as the technical leader for significant pursuits, coordinating Oracle’s resources for comprehensive customer solutions. Illustrate how Oracle's Data Platform can aid customers in modernizing outdated systems and enhancing operational efficiency. Craft enterprise-scale architectures that encompass databases, analytics, AI, data integration, governance, and hybrid/multi-cloud setups. Oversee customer workshops, architecture evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and technical validations. Provide insights and thought leadership on financial services trends, risk management, and data modernization. Work in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to guarantee favorable customer results. Share market intelligence and customer insights to influence Oracle’s product and solution strategy. Mentor and support junior engineers and architects, promoting technical excellence throughout the team. Success Factors for Year One:

The perfect candidate is a motivated, customer-oriented technical leader with extensive knowledge of enterprise data platforms and the financial services industry. This individual combines business acumen with the capacity to clearly communicate technology solutions in terms that resonate with business objectives.
10+ years in solution engineering, enterprise architecture, consulting, or related technical roles. Proven track record in supporting complex technology sales and strategic customer interactions. Strong expertise in data platforms, cloud databases, analytics, AI/ML, governance, and modernization projects. In-depth understanding of financial services processes, regulations, and digital transformation goals. Experience collaborating with senior executives, including CIOs and CTOs. Ability to spearhead large technical projects involving diverse stakeholders. Comprehensive understanding of enterprise tech purchasing trends and customer decision-making factors. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities. Skill in conveying technical ideas in business language aligned to customer outcomes. Strong collaboration and influence capabilities. Passion for customer success; demonstrated ability to forge trusted relationships. Preference for candidates located in the NY/NJ area. Preferred Technical Expertise:
Experience with Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, and Exadata. Knowledge of Oracle Data Intelligence and Analytics solutions. Familiarity with Data Lakehouse architectures. Expertise in AI and Machine Learning technologies. Data integration and data engineering skills. Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks. Experience in financial services data modernization. Proficiency in hybrid and multi-cloud architectures. Experience with cloud-native application and data architectures. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred; an advanced degree is a bonus.

Compensation Package:
For this role, Oracle provides a competitive salary range from $147,300 to $243,800 per annum, along with potential for equity and commission opportunities.
