Senior Network Security Architect

Our client, a rapidly growing telecommunications company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Security Architect to enhance and safeguard their extensive network infrastructure. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions to protect against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for the overall security posture of the company's network, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other security appliances. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in network protocols, security frameworks, and the latest threat intelligence. You will collaborate with network engineering, systems administration, and IT operations teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the network design and deployment lifecycle. A strong understanding of compliance requirements and best practices within the telecommunications industry is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive network security architecture and infrastructure. Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect network assets. Evaluate, recommend, and deploy new security technologies and solutions. Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks. Develop and manage incident response plans and procedures. Monitor network traffic for security breaches and anomalies, responding to and resolving security incidents. Provide technical leadership and guidance on network security best practices to IT teams. Ensure network security measures comply with industry regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into new network deployments and projects. Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in network security, with at least 4 years in an architect or senior design role. Extensive experience with firewall management (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM solutions, and endpoint security. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network segmentation, and cloud security concepts. Proven ability to design and implement secure network architectures for complex, large-scale environments. Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security) are highly desirable. Experience in the telecommunications sector is a significant plus. This role is based in **Provo, Utah, US**, and requires on-site presence to manage and protect critical network infrastructure.
