About The Studio

We are a small, design-focused architecture studio in Hermosa Beach specializing in high-end custom residential projects throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. Our work is focused primarily on ground-up residences, with an emphasis on thoughtful design, strong client relationships, and close collaboration with talented contractors, interior designers, landscape architects, and consultants.

We maintain a casual, collaborative studio environment while taking the quality of our architecture and project delivery seriously. As a small team, everyone has meaningful involvement in our projects, with opportunities to contribute ideas, take ownership of their work, and grow professionally as the practice evolves.

With a growing portfolio of residential work, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Architect who is equally invested in design and the technical execution required to bring it to life. This is a hands-on role with direct involvement in projects from design development through construction, as well as the opportunity to help shape the continued growth of the studio. For the right person, the position has the potential to develop into a larger leadership role within the firm over time.

Responsibilities

Lead projects through design development and construction documentationDevelop comprehensive, well-coordinated drawing setsResolve architectural details and complex building conditionsCoordinate structural, civil, MEP, landscape, interiors, and other consultantsManage permitting and plan-check processes with Los Angeles area jurisdictionsCoordinate directly with clients, consultants, and contractorsProvide technical guidance and drawing review for other team membersParticipate in project meetings and construction administrationContribute to the continued development of office standards, details, templates, and project-delivery workflows

Qualifications

8+ years of professional architectural experience preferredStrong experience with high-end custom residential architectureExcellent construction documentation and detailing skillsExperience independently managing projects through DD and CDsStrong understanding of residential construction and consultant coordinationFamiliarity with Los Angeles area codes, permitting, and plan-check processesAbility to manage multiple project responsibilities and work with a small collaborative teamStrong communication skills and professional judgmentCalifornia architectural licensure preferred, but not required

Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite required. Strong proficiency in Revit and/or Archicad is highly desirable.

Compensation: $110,000-$150,000+, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
