Senior Project Architect (Adaptive Re-use + Preservation)

About the position

DELV Design is seeking a Senior Project Architect focused on adaptive re-use and preservation. The role leads projects and design teams in renovating, rehabilitating, and preserving older and/or historic buildings for new uses. The architect will also help the firm pursue additional clients and expand its expertise in this area.\n\nWorking with a collaborative design team, the Senior Project Architect leads projects through due diligence and assessments, design, approvals and permitting, construction administration, and closeout. Mentoring younger staff working on these project types is an important part of supporting successful projects and developing team members as architects and designers.\n\nDELV describes its practice as place-based, combining creative, human-centered design with a pragmatic and collaborative spirit. Its research-based, relationship-driven process considers cultural, environmental, and economic forces and emphasizes thoughtful engagement with clients and communities.

Responsibilities

Lead adaptive re-use and preservation projects and design teams.Guide the renovation, rehabilitation, and preservation of older and/or historic buildings for new uses.Lead projects through due diligence and assessments, design, approvals and permitting, construction administration, and closeout.Help the firm pursue additional clients and expand its adaptive re-use and preservation expertise.Mentor younger staff assigned to adaptive re-use and preservation projects.Requirements

Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in architecture.Current architectural license in Indiana or the candidate's state of residence.8–12 years of related work experience.Degree or certificate in preservation, or significant documented experience in preservation.Proficiency with Revit and Adobe Suite.Robust adaptive re-use portfolio involving different façade and structural systems.Ability to plan and detail exterior and interior components across various types of construction.Well-versed in visualization tools and able to communicate designs three-dimensionally using a variety of tools and software platforms.Benefits
