The Senior Solutions Architect - SDDC Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting SHI customers with post-sales implementations of data center infrastructure automation initiatives as they transition to modern data center solutions and private clouds. This proactive delivery role includes low-level design, hands-on deployment of enterprise infrastructures, upgrade and migration services, and integrations with existing systems. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to other consultants within the team.

Role Description

Conduct low-level design and implementation work, including architecture analysis, design, system migration, and systems engineering.Design and implement:VMware VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation), both Brownfield and GreenfieldVMware VCF (Aria) AutomationAutomation and IaC technologies such as SaltStack, Terraform, or AnsibleProficiency in scripting languages and technologies like PowerShell, PowerCLI, and JavascriptServer virtualization & operations, vSAN, Storage, & SANDisaster recovery and VMware NSX for virtual networkingBackup & ransomware resiliency solutionsHyperconverged solutionsAct as the technical lead and subject matter expert on projects and workshops, ensuring successful outcomes.Collaborate with sales and presales teams to identify and close professional services opportunities.Provide configuration and upgrade services in customers' environments.Mentor other architects and consultants within the team, fostering professional development.Participate in pre-sales conversations, service engagement planning, and stay current with industry trends.Exhibit long-term strategic thinking related to our Infrastructure practice and customer engagement.Behaviors and Competencies

Expertise in project oversight and completion, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.Strong skills in identifying, documenting, and managing technical project needs through stakeholder engagement.Ability to design, build, and maintain robust systems leveraging infrastructure efficiently.Expertise in coding and automation solutions across various scripting languages.Proficient in understanding various infrastructure components and orchestration tools.Experience in developing detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and driving revenue through professional services.Extensive experience in large-scale IT projects including design, deployment, and configuration.Additional Requirements

Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent organizational abilities.Consultative approach to enterprise architecture deployment.Relevant certifications such as VCIX, VCAP, VCP, VCDX, CCIE, VMCE are favorable.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.7+ years in solutions architecture or infrastructure roles.10+ years with VMware and associated product ranges in enterprise settings.8-10+ years of increasing technical responsibility.Willingness to travel occasionally.Thorough understanding of virtualization technologies and software-defined data center.Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000, with estimated on-target earnings (OTE) of $180,000 to $220,000, including base salary and bonuses/commissions. Compensation will depend on individual job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
