About the role: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred)4+ years of relevant experience in architecture or retail designDemonstrated ability to translate design concepts into site-specific architectural solutionsStrong design judgment and a clear point of view, with the ability to translate brand and design principles into thoughtful, compelling architectural outcomesExperience producing and/or reviewing construction documentation in partnership with consultantsUnderstanding of building systems, materials, detailing, and constructabilityFamiliarity with adapting designs to codes, zoning, and jurisdictional requirementsComfortable engaging with municipalities, developers, consultants, and construction partnersAbility to balance creative design thinking with scalable, repeatable solutionsSound judgment—knows when to lead, when to ask questions, and how to leverage partners effectivelyStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and advocate for design intent across teamsAbility to represent ideas through sketching, 3D modeling, and visual communication tools (e.g., SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar)Self-directed and accountable A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
