About the position Chronicle Heritage is seeking a Staff Architectural Historian who can assist in research and writing tasks on moderate to complex archival research, windshield and reconnaissance surveys, and can prepare built environment assessments and reports. Responsibilities Assist in research and writing tasks on moderate to complex archival researchAssist in windshield and reconnaissance surveysPrepare built environment assessments and reportsLead reconnaissance to inventory-level surveysAssist with efforts to identify and document buildings, structures, objects, districts and historic landscapesAssist with developing National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), and local register significance evaluations and assessments of effectRequirements Bachelor’s degree in history, architectural history, historic preservation, public history, heritage conservation, history, or a closely related field.Experience with the history, architecture, and infrastructure of the relevant regionsAbility to conduct pedestrian surveys, including walking in rough terrain and challenging weather in various locations.Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a positive work ethic and attitude, reliability, and commitment to working both independently and in a team environment.A valid U.S. driver’s license is required at the time of employment.Nice-to-haves
