About Us

CHIOCO is a design-focused architectural and interiors studio that takes on a broad range of project types and scales. Our firm’s work ranges from the intimacy of private residences to the massive scale of industrial adaptive reuse. We have designed restaurants, bars, retail stores, mixed-use facilities, and public spaces. We maintain a diverse client base with various project types and believe this to be an effective way to experience and contribute to the community.

We Are Seeking

a full-time Technical Designer / Project Architect that has eight or more years of experience. You should possess a high level of organization, a strong capacity for both technical expertise and design acumen, and a willingness to lead and learn alongside our incredible team.

Please note that we are an in-office design studio. No remote or hybrid positions are currently available.

Qualified candidates must have demonstrable experience with building envelope detailing, quality control review, and BIM modeling coordination.

Candidates are responsible for developing design concepts, coordinating schedule and consultants, fostering ongoing client relationships, and overseeing the production and execution of construction drawings. You are expected to manage projects from beginning to end: developing and pitching schematic designs, assisting clients directly, producing a highly technical and detailed set of construction documents, directing a team of consultants, and providing oversight throughout construction.

Ideal Candidates Possess

a strong technical background and an enjoyment of building sciencethe ability to collaborate on projects to help round out a set, solve complex problems and look for gaps without needing a lot of directiona willingness to mentor other employees on drawing standards and detailing Employees will have an allotted amount of hours per week to be a floater for projects to help with technical aspects along with having their own assigned projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Professional architecture degreeHighly organized, multi-tasked oriented, excellent communication skillsProficiency in: Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, EnscapeDemonstrable competency at all phases of design, production, and constructionKnowledge of construction standards, methods and materials, building codes and zoning / LDC requirements
