Buchart Horn is seeking a visionary Vice President of Transportation to lead one of the firm’s most influential engineering practices. With 11 offices across 7 states, this executive role provides firmwide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated transportation engineering solutions across our geographic footprint.

This position is ideal for a senior transportation engineer ready to shape not only major projects, but the future of a growing business unit and the professionals within it. You will define technical standards, guide strategic priorities, and drive long-term growth for the Transportation Strategic Business Unit—advancing infrastructure that improves mobility, safety, and community resilience.

What You’ll Do

Lead and grow the Transportation Strategic Business Unit, ensuring technical excellence, operational performance, and profitability
Provide executive leadership to directors and managers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional development
Drive business development through strong client relationships, strategic pursuits, and market expansion
Oversee project delivery, staffing, budgets, and financial performance across all regional offices
Advance quality standards and promote integrated, multidisciplinary project delivery

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Proven experience in transportation engineering and technical leadership, including design oversight
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage business operations, and support strategic growth
Strong communication, financial management, and strategic planning capabilities
