Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is primarily remote; however, candidates within a 50-mile radius of Austin, Detroit, Mountain View, or Warren are expected to report to the designated location at least three times a week.

Job Summary: General Motors is on the lookout for a seasoned Workday Core HCM Functional Architect to spearhead the design, implementation, and refinement of comprehensive Workday projects. This vital position will significantly influence our HR technology landscape, ensuring that Workday aligns with our business evolution.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering through design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

Engage with HR stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to guarantee that business objectives align with Workday's capabilities.

Design frameworks and scalable solutions for diverse Workday projects across the organization.

Facilitate solutioning sessions with various functional teams to achieve an integrated, cohesive design.

Communicate proposed solutions clearly, outlining the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

Provide expert insights on Workday best practices, configurations, security protocols, integrations, and reporting functionalities.

Review Workday configurations to ensure compliance with standards and optimization performance.

Stay updated on new Workday features and industry trends to enhance our Workday strategy continuously.

Identify areas for process enhancement and capitalize on Workday features to increase efficiency and user satisfaction.

Mentor junior Workday functional resources to nurture their professional growth.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Over 10 years of experience in HR technology, with at least 5 years in Workday Core HCM architecture roles.

Demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex Workday Core HCM solutions across multiple modules.

Profound knowledge of Workday's architectural framework, including Business Process Framework, Security, Reporting, and Integrations.

Strong analytical skills to convert complex business challenges into effective Workday solutions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in large enterprise environments, particularly in manufacturing or automotive sectors.

Workday certifications in Core HCM or related modules are highly valued.

Experience with Workday migrations, upgrades, and optimization post-implementation.

Ability to thrive independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $105,600 to $140,700. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors, including geography. Furthermore, there is a potential for bonus based on company performance and individual contributions.
